Thank you for your freply to my original email and I do find it comforting to know that the (fab feathy) as a group title only. I have given a warm welcome to the shop “Sweet and Salty” specialising in Italian specialities. I would single out the Tirimisu that makes all commercial versions tasteless. If anything is lacking it is that it lacks the rum that gives it that extra boost.
The Fruit and Vegetable market is increasing with several additions to produce being sold there. The move of “Dandelion” into greater and more accessible premises is a welcome sight. The move back onto the main street of the Barber’s shop is a thoughtful move which I trust will open up other premises nearby thus adding extra life to the town Every week appears to give it more character, Featherston is indeed Flourishing and may it continue.

thank you for your message. Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Kiwi First Aid booked the course with us, but unfortunately there were not sufficient participants at the time. We would be thrilled to have Kiwi First Aid do this course in Featherston, and we have also been approached by Red Cross who are keen to offer several courses at the Centre this year. We will post any First Aid courses facilitated at the Centre on the Centre facebook, and also ensure that anyone who has contacted us say they are interested are contacted by us or the provider. While it is interesting to read the reaction this community organisation has received to date I would take issue with the title fab-feathy such an appalling dumbing down of such a town with such potential. It’s on the same level as Palmerston North being called Palmy and Taranaki being referred to as Naki as I hear frequently. . There exists in New Zealand many respected place names and to dumb them down is both an insult to their origins.
Let us grow up and if it is desired to give Featherston a logo I would take a leaf out of the new Mayor when asked to give a label to three towns – Martinborough, Greytown and Featherston. For Featherston her word was – Flourishing.
